Elizabeth Arden - Green Tea Lotus

Lotus is considered as a sacred flower in Asian culture. Its appearance reflects its perfect beauty. It also symbolizes strength in any condition. Moreover, the smell raises an inner calm. Perhaps, that is the reason why perfume houses release lotus-based-scent nowadays.

While original Green Tea is still one of the most sought after scent in Indonesia (as always, i’m dramatizing a li’l bit), Elizabeth Arden has been starting releasing a new variant each year: from Spiced Green Tea, Green Tea Summer, Green Tea Revitalized, Iced Green Tea, and now Green Tea Lotus. All are based on soft green tea scent. Although in some variants, the tea scent is so soft I hardly smell it at all.

By the time I sprayed to my wrist, I said to myself,”Such an airy, sharp lemony-yuzu scent!” Nothing new, though as Hermes has created its Un Jardin sur Le Nil which has same opening. But, what impressed me from Green Tea Lotus that it develops really well so each time I could smell different ingredient before previous one steps back. For example, amidst the yuzu scent, the tea whispered so softly my mind craved more. When tea decided to fade, the oh-so-calming-lotus emerged from nowhere, declaring its grandeur and glory. It subtly recoiled by the presence of fresh lily which shouted quite clear and loud. Ah, this middle note truly reminded me of Tommy Hilfiger-Dreaming at once. All are perfect spring/summer fragrance!

Minutes later, no musk and birch came out, which is good to me actually. I can not imagine something beautiful and springy-fresh like this could be mixed with animalic musk.

Wearing this perfume, I imagine summer in bright, windy, sunlight where I can sit next to a clear bank of white water river, reading books under a shady lemon tree. Or, perhaps…chasing kite in open space like in sports ground or stadium. Or, further, standing on white yacht, cruising, feeling the sea air stroking my hair. I will be in awe.

Not quite sure whether it will fit upcoming fall season where I want something to be warmer and more sultry. But surely, I will buy a full bottle to cheer up myself at cloudy morning.
