CLEO Indonesia's 1st edition!

When I was browsing some books on the mall yesterday, I found this CLEO magazine, not only usual Malaysian or Singaporean edition CLEO, but INDONESIAN 1st EDITION CLEO!
Congratulation to Femina Group that finally launched this Indonesian Edition CLEO. As claimed by the Editor in Chief, Widarti Gunawan, CLEO represents Cool, Liberated, Energetic, and Optimistic.

I've been reading CLEO since I was a teenager, and have been falling in love with the magz ever since. CLEO usually has great articles, with a friendly writing style, and lots of interesting tips.

What makes CLEO different from other magazines is the ability to put itself as a 'friend' and its ability to find unique and rare products in affordable price.
I hope it stays that way, and not like other Indonesian magazines that finally dictated by the money and brand and make us pay for lots of advertisement.

To be honest, I'm one of those people who feel a bit lazy to buy Indonesian magazines. Not that I'm arrogant or trying to show off, but because it has become the natural need and responsibility of my job to absorb as much fashion media as I could to get the most updated fashion news, and unfortunately, most of Indonesian fashion articles, either in magazines and or internet media, are translations and or copied from US, UK, Japan, and or French's fashion magazine (Well, luckily they haven't got Spain's one).

For Indonesian fashion scenes and or events, I got the news by invitations and or press release. Therefore, I almost have no need to buy the magazine here just to read the same articles. However, let's see this CLEO. I already bought the 1st edition and kinda like it. Still found some similar articles, but still have a hope (well, this is their 1st, you see..). So, keep up the spirit, CLEO team! (PV/JKT/VC07)

I'm disappointed since the cover looks kinda different from the Singapore and Malaysian edition. I havent read it yet though. And most Indonesian magz with franchises abroad usually copy the articles and translate them directly to Indonesian. I even found one November article in an Aussie Cosmopolitan republished in Indonesia's February edition.

Maybe they were trying to create customer awareness by choosing an eye catching picture as their cover in the 1st edition. Hahaha...who knows.

However, to me, the paper that they use is not really good. A bit heavy and not sturdy. The articles are quite ok, but yes, still found some copied and translation article. Agree with you, Win. That's the main reason why I feel a bit lazy to buy Indonesian magazine.

malaysian and singaporean Cleos have better paper yah vil :)
sigh. copied articles make them look as if they're not creative enough to write local ones. and it happens almost every time.

I think CLEO's gonna be the leading magazine in Indonesia...let's hope so, hehe

Yeap. Malaysian ans Singaporean Cleos have nice paper and quite sturdy. At least ga bergelombang ga jelas. :P Huhuhu....

I was wondering, maybe it is in the franchising terms that they have to translate or copied some article from the original version? Though sounds quite weird to me...:P

Yeah I hope so. And I was wondering why they haven't franchise for Marie Claire? Is it because Marie Claire has a deep and smart articles? Huhuhu....let's see.

actually i just realized. Singaporean and Malaysian Cleo's are very different, actually. they always follow their own trends, and i have not seen a case of translated articles. Even their style of writing is differentiated.

Yupss..! That's right. They have their own local fashion style and trend plus their own writing style. That's why I love to buy them both. Hehehe...:)
Hopefully Indonesian CLEO will follow their path.
