Victorian Era of Somewhere in Time
I watch this movie when a friend recommended it, and fell in love with not just the movie and the scenery, but also the clothes. The Victorian clothes that Jane Seymour wore to resemble the fashion era in 1912 are gorgeously tailored.
Victorian clothes used to be very chic years ago. And then the bohemian look followed, and both faded around this year. However, looking classic and doing a mix and match game with a combination is never a mistake.
The first time Jane Seymour appears in the movie, she is wearing a simple white dress with a little lace detail and frilly chiffon that drape casually on her shoulders. The sequins make her look lush although the dress is nothing extraordinary.
Later in the movie, she wears Victorian ball dress with flowing full skirt and long sleeves. In some scenes she will wear a shawl and a pair of lace gloves to polish her classic look. She also carries a lace umbrella.
I know that most of her clothes are too classic for the 20 th century, and not even suitable to Indonesian weather, but I think we can incorporate a similar look by investing in gowns with full skirts and plain colors such as beige or white, with a little floral design, lace and frills to add the Victorian look. Hats are also a must, they look great when worn during a party (perhaps a garden party, or anything outdoorsy).

For a more casual look, try a simple peasant cotton dress with lacy front, get your hair braided and you are ready to look Victorian. If you feel that looks to outdated, combine them with straw bags, rattan bag, vests, and big belts. Or invest in intricate vintage accessories such as brooches, big rings, classic plunging necklaces with gemstones or pearls, and bangles.
