Grey Eye Shadows

I notice a trend in make up these days, and think that it looks very sophisticated. Grey is the in color this season, too, and there is no reason not using it in your eyes :)

Grey gives the smoky eyes look that has been popular before - celebrities love creating a mysterious look through their make up. But soon dark is replaced by pastel tones like pink, lilac, and earthy colors like peach and warm orange. Summer is over, though, and I personally think the grey eye shadow is suitable to the dark winter days. (Even if there is no snowy winter in our country).

A few tips for a grey eye shadow experiment:

- Choose only one part of the face to emphasize. With heavy make up on the eyes, use a less bold lip color and opt for a natural look. Nude lipstick with smoky eyes look great. Also use a lot of mascara and eye liner, they will structure the eyes and strengthen the grey color.

- Apply silver or grey eye shadows, combined with black eye liner. If you like a bit of shimmer in your face, a touch of futuristic silver on the eyes will create thte look. However, matte look on the face looks best with grey eye shadow.

- Grey is the color for everyone - no matter what your age is. Experiment with both dark and light greys to see which one looks better on you. Dark usually creates a more formal look, and light grey is slightly more playful but still very modern. Dark grey will bring out your eyes and deepen the creases, preferably when you do not want to use black.

- If you're not too sure about the color grey, blend it with other colors. Perhaps a grey green? Reminds me of a dragonfly wing - so beautiful. Mix the colors.

- Search for your grey color now. Many brands have a wide variety of grey that will look great, whatever your skin tone is.
